SAVED BY GRACE

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 We are saved by grace and not by our good works. You cannot earn your salvation, no matter how many good deeds you get involved in. Salvation is a free gift of God that you receive by faith in the Lord Jesus. If salvation is a free gift of God, then why are so many people not born again? That’s because the devil has blinded them. They need our prayers so that God can move on their behalf. God does not intervene unless we ask Him to do it. We need to pray for the lost; we need to pray for souls. You can start by praying for people close to you like family members, relatives, friends, neighbors, colleagues, etc. When you have adequately prayed for others then you can share the gospel with them. If not at least invite them to church. Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? Isaiah 53:1 W...

JESUS TAKES AWAY THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14   When Jesus takes away sins, He also takes away the consequences of sins. Jesus takes away the curse which came as a result of man’s sin. When He takes away the curse, the blessing of Abraham comes upon us. Every child of God is blessed with the blessings of Abraham. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 When Adam sinned the curse came into the world. When you are under the law the curse works effectually in your life, but praise the Lord! We are not under the law but under grace. When you receive Jesus, He takes away the curse and He gives you the blessing. He make...

JESUS TAKES AWAY SIN

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 Sin separates man from God. This is precisely what happened to Adam. When Adam sinned, he became estranged from God. He no longer had a healthy and living relationship with God, where God and Adam would fellowship together. He became separated from God, all because of sin. He was driven out of the Garden. Adam first died spiritually and then physically. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 Jesus came to restore the relationship that was lost between God and man. He came to give us life, eternal life, life as God has it. When you receive Jesus and confess Him as your Lord and Saviour, you receive eternal life and you are reconciled and restored to a relationship with God. That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has...

GOD’S THOUGHTS CONCERNING YOU

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 Beloved, you might find that you are not where you want to be or your life did not quite turn out the way you thought it would. Maybe, you are not as swift, strong or wise as you would like to be. There is hope for you and Jesus is your hope. God has good thoughts concerning you. Taking it from our opening Scripture, God has thoughts of peace toward you; however, these thoughts are in His Word clothed in vocabulary. What you need do is to delve into the Word, because all His exceedingly great and precious promises are not on the surface. You must dig deep to take possession of them. You need to exchange your thoughts about yourself with God’s thoughts concerning you. Whatever God says about you in His Word, let it dominate your thinking. Let the Word saturate your mind. Renew your mind with the Word of God. And do not be conformed ...

MAKE YOURSELF GOOD

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Matthew 12:33 Did you ever know that a person can make him or herself good or bad? It is entirely up to you as a child of God to make yourself good or bad, and there are ways in which you make yourself good or bad. You make yourself good by choosing good influence, which entails the things you watch, read, and listen to, the places you go to and the people you spend most of your time with. All these influence you to be a good person if they are good influence. He who walks with wise men will be wise, but a companion of fools will be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20 Conversely, you make yourself bad when you are influenced by bad influence such as the things you watch, read, and listen to, the places you go to and the people you spend most of your time with. All these influence you to be a bad person if it is bad influence. Do not be deceived: “Evil company...

REST

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 We are living in stressful times and many people are battling to cope with daily demands. You could be struggling with depressing thoughts or some seemingly insurmountable challenge that is causing you stress, worry and anxiety. There is a way out. You can find rest when you come to Jesus. You find rest by coming to Jesus and spending time with Him. He will ease your mind and give you rest; He will restore your soul. Sadly, too many people are busy about many things and they neglect fellowship with the Lord. If you will make time for the Lord and make spending time with Him a priority, then stress, worry and anxiety will melt like wax in His presence. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. For My yoke is easy and burden is light. Matthew 11:30 If you want to travel light, I encourage you to make spending time with God a priority. God wants you to rest inwardly, so that you can be...

THINK EXCELLENT THOUGHTS

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 Excellent thoughts bring about joy and peace in one’s life; excellent thoughts attract blessings. If you want to have a beautiful life, think excellent thoughts; thoughts that are consistent with the Word. You have the mind of Christ; you have a sound, excellent and creative mind. Refrain from thinking discouraging and self-defeating thoughts, refuse to dwell on the negative and think positive thoughts. Train your mind to think constructive and excellent thoughts; thoughts that encourage and build you up. You are the only one who can choose what you think about. Just because something crossed your mind it does not mean that you should dwell on it. The Bible admonishes us to guard our hearts...
