The Word of His Grace Daily Devotional

Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Colossians 1:28 We preach Christ and Him crucified. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the Father but by Him. He is the only way to heaven. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through Me. John 14:6 When Jesus was here on earth, He stressed that we must be born again. We must believe in Him and receive Him as our Lord and Savior, thereby receiving a new life; the life of God in our spirits. Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 There is no other name under heaven given us whereby we shall be saved. Salvation is in Jesus Christ alone and not in religion or attending church. You must have a personal relationship with Jesus. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no oth...

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13 Salvation is a big word and it includes all the things that Christ died for you to have. Work out your own salvation by doing God’s will, being obedient to Him. You take possession of what belongs to you by living a life of obedience to God. When you live a life of obedience to God you activate the blessing of God in your life. It will be evident to all that you are blessed, when you live a life of obedience. Obedience is the key to living the blessed life. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. Isaiah 1:19 Things will begin to work when you work out your own salvation; things will begin to work when you live a life of obedience to God. There is usually a clear distinction to the obedient...

Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Philippians 2:2 Be united with other believers and do what your leader tells you to do. The only time you are not supposed to obey your leader is if he or she is asking you to do what is contrary to the Word. Other than that, be agreeable and obey spiritual instructions. There is unity when we all obey spiritual instructions, we can all flow in one direction. We can definitely achieve more when we are united. We can readily make progress when we are united. Nothing can stop us when we are united. And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing they propose to do will be withheld from them. Genesis 11:6 When we are divided there is hardly any progress. There is weakness when we are divided and we are susceptible to attacks. However, united we can stand, overcome and move forward. But Jesus knew their thoug...

Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. Philippians 1:27 You represent Christ on earth so let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ. Represent Jesus well so that people may be susceptible to receive the good news of the kingdom. Live a life of sacrifice for the sake of winning others to Christ. The aim is to win souls and lead many to righteousness; to depopulate hell and populate heaven. Did you know that when you win souls and lead many to righteousness you make God rich? When you make God rich, He does not have a problem making you rich. A wise man once said, “A millionaire is someone who has impacted a million lives!” How many lives do you want to impact with your lifestyle and your gift? How many people do you want to impact with your character and excellence? Advance God’s kin...

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2 (KJV) Now that you are born again, the number one thing on God’s list is your prosperity and health. God is a good and generous God. He wants you to prosper and be in health above all things; your prosperity and health are His priority. It is God’s perfect will that you prosper and be in health. Your response is to desire the same thing for yourself. You should desire to prosper and be in health. However, there is an enemy out there who does not want you to prosper and be in health. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12 Poverty and sickness are from the enemy and they are contraband in the kingdom of God. Therefore you can reject poverty and sickness. You can refuse to be poor and sick. If you want to proper and be in health look no further, your prosperity and h...

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20 There is power that is at work in us and it is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. It is the power of the Holy Spirit. The opening Scripture teaches us that God is able to exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to this power of the Holy Spirit. When you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior you need to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Jesus told us that we shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit has come upon us. You shall receive power after the baptism of the Holy Spirit. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8 After you have received the Holy Spirit or the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you ...

Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more. Genesis 37:5 Have a dream that involves your gifts, God loves dreamers. God kept Joseph alive because Joseph had a dream. Joseph could have died at the hands of his brothers but instead they threw him in a pit, later on they took him out of the pit and sold him into slavery. When he got to Egypt he served his master faithfully until he was accused of attempted rape by a vindictive woman and was sent to prison. In prison he was used by God to interpret a dream and eventually he got out of prison. When Joseph got out of prison, he accomplished his dream. Joseph did not perish in the face of adversity because he had a dream. How many people perish because they don’t have a dream that they actively pursue? Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18 Don’t give up, keep dreaming. Some people, when they have failed or there is a delay, ...

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 You are created for a purpose and the Bible refers to your purpose as good works. There are things that God wants you to accomplish here on earth. You are here on assignment therefore you have to discover what is that assignment that God wants you to accomplish. You have to ask yourself what your purpose is. You have to ask God what He wants you to do. Your purpose entails your gifts and passions. Your purpose is something you are both good at and passionate about. Stop telling others what they should do for you but ask what should I do? What can you do for others? What can you do for your family, church, community, nation etc.? What is your purpose? Ask the right questions, after hearing Peter’s sermon on the Day of Pentecost people asked the right question and that led to their salvation. Now when they heard this, they were cut to t...

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:13 There is power, wonder working power in the blood of Jesus and we have been brought near by the blood of Christ. The Bible clearly states that there is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood. And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission. Hebrews 9:22 In the Old Testaments they relied on the blood of goats and bulls to cover sins which was just a shadow. In the New Testament the Lamb of God shed His own blood on the cross for the remission of sins. When we believe in Jesus and receive Him as our Lord and Savior, our sins are removed, totally blotted out and now we have been brought near.   Now we can have a living relationship with the living God. Thank God for the blood of Jesus that washes our sins as white as snow. “Come now, and let us reason together,” says the...

And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2 You have to train others especially those you have been given the privilege to lead. As leader you should not withhold anything from your followers. Learn to share your wisdom with others. Selflessness is the key to greatness. Other people like to withhold things from others and are not prone to share with others how they made it. Consequently, they don’t become great in life. However, those who are liberal do become great. The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 11:24-25 (MSG) Giving something away is one major way of ensuring that it stays with you. When you liberate others you truly liberate yourself. You don’t reduce yourself by giving. On the contrary, you can only go up by giving. ...

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 When you renew your mind, you upgrade your mind and when you upgrade your mind, you upgrade your life. You can change the way you think and when you change the way you think you change your life. Before you got born again, you had a certain thought-pattern; you held certain views that may not necessarily be correct. However, when you got born again some of those views may not have changed. These views may keep you from making progress in your life. Henceforth, you need to renew your mind and change your thinking. You need a mental upgrade. You need to engage in exercises that deal with the mind. The Word, prayer and reading the right books are some of the exercises that will help you renew or upgrade your mind. You need godly influence on your mind that will bring down strongholds or wrong thinking pat...

A man’s stomach shall be satisfied form the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of lips he shall be filled. Proverbs 18:20 What others say about you is not as nearly as important as what you say about yourself. People might say negative things concerning your life; nevertheless, God is waiting to hear what you say about yourself. What you say about yourself will override what others say about you, because God has given you authority and your life goes in the direction of your words. When you say the right words angels go to work but when you say the wrong words the enemy goes to work. Therefore, what you need to do is guard your lips and choose the right words to speak. He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:3 There is power in your words. Words have creative ability. If you will keep saying right things concerning your life, your life will go in the right direction. However, if you keep saying wro...

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Galatians 3:8-9 In the Old Testament you had to obey the Law of Moses in order to be blessed whereas in the New Testament, you have to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thus become the seed of Abraham. By virtue of you becoming the seed of Abraham you are blessed along with believing Abraham. Hallelujah! If the Christian is blessed then how come do so many Christian struggle. The answer is ignorance. The enemy has kept many Christians in the dark through ignorance. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6 Ignorance is costly. Therefore, refuse to be ignorant...

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Galatians 2:16 In the Old Covenant, man was justified by the law; man needed to follow the Law of Moses to be just. Thank God that in the New Covenant, the dispensation of grace, man is justified by faith in Jesus Christ, Hallelujah! For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17 We are in the dispensation of grace and we are no longer under the law but under grace. We are saved by grace and we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ. Thank God for His grace that has found us. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 God has justified us by faith in Jesus Chri...

For He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles. Galatians 2:8 Peter was called to preach the gospel to the circumcised Jews while Paul was called to preach to the uncircumcised Gentiles. However, God worked effectively in both of them. God works effectively in what He has called you to do. If you want to be great, do what God has called you to do. There is nothing on this earth you can do better than your calling. In your calling, you can display the highest form of character and excellence. You can be the best that God created you to be in your calling and not in your job. God has anointed you for your calling and not my calling or somebody else’s for that matter. There is a calling on your life. When you are born again, you have to discover your calling. What does God want you to do? What is God pulling you to? God can reveal that to you. He can show you things that He wants you to do. God can reveal you...

Therefore we do not loose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 You need to be renewed day by day. You need a daily Word from God that will set you on course every day. Getting the Word on a daily basis is a sure way to win on a daily basis. There are many decisions you need to take on a daily basis and the Word of God coupled with prayer can help you make the right decisions on a daily basis. You need the Word and the Spirit every day. You need the Word and prayer every day; wisdom and understanding. Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 4:5 If you want to make progress in your life then renew your mind on a daily basis. When you renew your mind you essentially upgrade your mind, when you upgrade your mind, you upgrade your life. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove w...

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I though as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 1 Corinthians 13:11 The Greek word for child here is “nepios” which means an infant, a babe, one who cannot speak, a simple minded person and an immature Christian. The Greek word for man here is “aner” which means a man of mature understanding. God wants you to put away childish things and become mature in your understanding. There are two stages in Christianity which are a babyhood stage and maturity stage; carnal and spiritual. It goes without saying that you start out as a baby who is carnal, however you need to mature and be spiritual. You need to grow from being simple minded and become wise. As new born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. 1 Peter 2:2-3 You grow by going for the Word; the Word of God is spiritual food. You also need to pray; prayer...

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1 John 5:14 If you are going to have answered prayers you will have to ask according to God’s will and that means in line with His Word. God’s Word reveals God’s will for your life, therefore, if it’s in the Word, you can ask for it. When I was in high school a certain prophet from the U.S. came to our school and prophesied to me and after that meeting one of my teachers said to other students, “If the prophet did not prophecy to you and you want what he prophesied to someone else, you can say, ‘God, I want the same thing.’” That couldn’t be further from the truth, because that would be covetousness. Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 You cannot ask God for something that belongs to someone that would be covetousness, that is not God’s will. ...

For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of melody. Isaiah 51:3 You may be faced with a number of challenges at this point in your life. Perhaps you are diagnoses will a horrible illness or you are in debt, it could be anything. It does not matter because God will turn it around! You are going through it but you are not remaining in it. This too will pass. It will not always be like this, things will turn around in your favor. God will rescue and deliver you. God will not leave you there. When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad. Psalm 126:1-3 God is the God of th...

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14 We are no longer under the law but we are under grace and we are in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. We should yield to the Holy Spirit and be led by the Spirit. When you are born again, you can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and follow His leading. You just need to know how to be sensitive to His voice. You become sensitive to His voice by praying in the Spirit and meditating on the Word. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know th...

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14 The best decision you could ever make in life is to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Other than that, you have to make numerous decisions every day of your life. When you constantly make right decisions they eventually lead to your success in life. Success simply put is a series of right decisions that you make. However, you need wisdom to make right decisions all the time. The Bible clearly states that if you need wisdom, you should ask for it. Solomon asked for wisdom when he was presented with an opportunity to ask and God was pleased with his request. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Making right decisions every day is of outmost importance. The good that you do today will benefit you tomorrow. The good that you do right now will put you in an ad...

And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; and He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, in Him the Gentiles shall hope.” Romans 15:12 When you are not Jewish according to the flesh you are a Gentile. Although God had originally called the Jews to be His people, this time He has also called the Gentiles to be His people. Glory to God! Now, Jesus the King of kings reigns over us as the Gentiles, we are His people. Although the Jews are originally His people, God has had mercy on us and made us His people. We are grafted in to the family of God. We are now God’s people because we believe in Jesus Christ. As He says also in Hosea: “I will call them My people, who were not My people, and her beloved, who was not beloved.” “And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people, there they shall be called sons of the living God.” Romans 9:25-26 We have come to an everlasting kingdom, a kingdom that knows no end. Now we reign thr...

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20 We are in this world but we are not of this world, we are passer byes, we are strangers in the earth. We are the citizens of heaven, heaven is our home! The Bible clearly states that we are already seated with Christ in heavenly places. We are in Christ. When He was crucified, we were crucified with Him, when He was buried we were buried with Him, when He rose from the dead we were raised with Him to a newness of life. Christ is our life! But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-6 As heavenly citizens we should be heavenly minded, in other words we should get our vision from heaven and in effect bring heaven on ...

Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. Psalm 67:5-7 When praises go up blessings come down! When praises go up God opens doors for blessings. When you bless the Lord with your praises, He blesses you with increase. You can only live in the overflow when you live in the praises of God. God is a good God and He wants to bless you, but God does not bless complainers and negative people. God blesses people who praise Him! Learn to live thanksgiving and praise mode. It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night. Psalm 92:1-2 When you praise God, He fights your battles. When you praise God, you come closer to God and when you draw near to Him He draws near to you. If you are stagnant and you beg...

Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Luke 8:19-21 When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you come into the family of God. You and Jesus have one Heavenly Father, you are in the household of faith and Jesus is not ashamed to call you His brother. Jesus calls those who hear the Word of God and do it His mother, brothers and sisters. He calls those who do the will God His mother, brothers and sisters. That is because a real Christian does the will of God. For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother. Mark 3:35 When you are born again, you are in the family of God and Jesus is your brother. Jesus is your Lord and Savior and you have one Father. You are royalty, you are a roy...

For do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still please men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. Galatians 1:10 You can make others happy. You can make your family, friends and colleagues happy but what if what makes your family, friends and colleagues happy makes God unhappy. You have to learn to live to please God. When you make God happy everything will fall into place. When you make God happy you will be happy and you will have peace in your heart. All is well when you are living to please the Lord. Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Isaiah 3:10 Keep God first place and make Him happy, live to please God.  However, you cannot please God and please all men at the same time; you cannot make God happy and make everybody else happy at the same time. Living to please God is a life of sacrifice, you might have to suffer or be rejected by others for Christ. Nevertheless, you ...

For You are my lamp, O LORD, the LORD shall enlighten my darkness. 2 Samuel 22:29 Jesus is my Light and since He came in my life He has brought light in my life and that light came in the form of knowledge. The knowledge of God gives us light. When you have the light of the knowledge of God you can longer walk in darkness, you are made free. You can name your problem. All you need is light concerning that problem and your situation will change. You will be delivered through knowledge. Knowledge of the truth will set you free! And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 God’s Word will give you direction for your life. It will show you who you are and what you possess. It will show you what to be, what to do, and where to go. The Word of God gives you knowledge so that you do not walk in darkness. It changes your perspective in life and it gives you God’s thoughts. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 The...

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7 You will be rewarded for the good that you do, in a similar fashion, you will be rewarded for the wrong that you do. You reap what you sow! Therefore, you need to choose life, and choose to sow the right seeds for your life. You choose the kind of life you want to live by choosing the kind of seeds you sow. You have to sow love in order to reap love. You have to make others happy in order to be happy. You have to teach others how to be successful in order to be successful. You have to be generous in order to live in abundance. You simply reap what you sow. Knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. Ephesians 6:8 This law also works in the negative effect. If you constantly sow the wrong seed you will reap a bad harvest. If you sow hatred you will reap hatred. If you make others unhappy you will be unhappy. ...

Let us hear the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Man’s all is to fear the Lord and to live according to His Word. Man’s all is to keep God’s Word first place. Adam failed at this but Jesus succeeded. When you are in Christ, you can keep God’s Word. You can live by the Word. You have to learn to yield to the Word and the Spirit every day and live by the Word. There is no other way but to trust and obey. God in His infinite wisdom created the universe and He tells you through His Word how to get things done. He lets you know how to achieve the right results. All you have to do is just yield to Him and you will live a glorious and victorious life. Many people are unhappy, sick and poor because they don’t live by the Word. However, if you live by the Word you will be happy, healthy and rich. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. Isaiah 1:19 If you live by the Word you will ...
