EMPOWERED TO OBEY GOD

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 According to the above Scripture, you have to spend time in the Bible in order to do according to all that is written in it. Nevertheless, there are a lot of Christians who want to obey God, they want to obey the Word, but they fail because they fail to spend time in the Word. As a Christian, you don’t just instantaneously become a doer of the Word because you have to be empowered to be a doer of the Word.   You are empowered to be a doer of the Word by spending time with God. When you make spending time with God a priority, you become a doer of the Word. The children of Israel struggled to obey God. However, when Moses asked them to come close to God and hear Him, they refused. Nevertheless, they thought they could still ob

SAVE FOR A BETTER FINANCIAL FUTURE

Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase. Proverbs 13:11 Too many people stay the same place financially, even after many years of work. There is little or no financial progress in their lives. That is because some neglect the importance of saving for the future. Take note from our opening Scripture that it is not those who labour who will increase but those who gather by labour, meaning those who work and save will increase. Don’t spend all your money, be wise and spend less than you earn. When you save for the future, you can have money to give when the Lord requires you to give. You can also do something important with your savings, like buy a car, start a business, send your children to university, etc. The Word declares that to him who has more will be given. When you have money because you save, more money can come to you because money goes to where it is properly managed. When you save, you put yourself in a better finan

YOU ARE THE LIGHT IN YOUR WORLD

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14 People in the world are in darkness; they walk in ignorance to God’s Word. As a believer you can enlighten other people’s darkness; you can make them see. You are the light of the world. You are a leader with solutions. You can win souls and lead many to righteousness. You can liberate and empower others. You can lead by example and make a difference. You can distinguish yourself as the light of the world by bearing good fruit and producing good works. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 People everywhere are looking for leaders who will lead them. They are looking for the light, someone who will lead and solve problems. You can be that difference maker and change other people’s lives. When people see you, what do they see; what do they think? Are you the solution or the problem? You can be a burning

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12 Friend, the blessed life that Jesus came for you to have; the glorious and the good life won’t be handed to you on a silver platter. You have to fight for it. Paul told Timothy to fight the good fight of faith. In this Christian life, only fighters win. Victory is secured only when you fight. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12 How do you fight? With your full amour in place, you fight by speaking the Word. It is truly a good fight, and when you fight, you fight to win. You don’t have to take things lying down; you can put up a fight, and fight the good fight of faith. Go for the Word because the Word is the sword of the Spirit. You can use it for an offensive attack. It puts you in an advantageous posi

GOD LOVES YOU

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 No one in this world can love you the way that God does. Your parents, spouse, brothers, sisters and friends cannot love you the way that God does. God loves you. God’s love cannot be compared to human love. Human love is imperfect and has shortcomings but God’s love is perfect and it never fails. You can rely on God’s love for you. The Bible declares that nothing can separate us from God’s love. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 In other words, you will always experience God’s love; nothing can separate you from His love. Expect God’s love, mercy and goodness. God will meet you at your l

REST

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 Rest in God’s love for you, rest in His promises, and rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Rest does not mean inactivity, however, you rest inwardly. You are not bothered about many things, you are at ease. You rest from stress, worry and anxiety, and you are filled with love, peace and joy. You find rest for your soul. This rest is found in Jesus. We should labor to enter this rest. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone should fall according to the same example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:9-11 Your faith works in this posture of rest. You have rest for

DO EVERYTHING WITH LOVE

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to be feed to the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 Whatever you do without love does not profit you. Love should be the reason for everything! You should serve because you love God and people. You should not serve or do anything out of selfish motives. Keep your motives pure, and do everything with love. Loving God and loving people should be at the center. Loving God and loving people will make you great in life. People respond to love more than anything else, because love attracts people! Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, wi

BE YOURSELF

But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 1 Corinthians 12:20 We are part of the body of the Body of Christ and we are many members. Everybody is different and has different gifts, so, be yourself and function in your gift and calling. Don’t try to be someone else because we are equally important to God, your gift matters and my gift matters. We are the same, we are the same body. Your gift benefits me and my gift benefits you! Find out what your gift is and play your unique role in the body. Find out what your purpose is and pursue it. Don’t compete with others but run your own race, you can be yourself and fulfill your own purpose. Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despi

SERVE ALL MEN

Just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved. 1 Corinthians 10:33 To please all men is to serve all men, to meet people’s needs, to help people and to make people happy. This is an all-around good principle. It is good for individuals and organizations alike. If you can please all men in your sphere of contact you will do well in life. If you can please all men in your organization whether be ministry or business you will do well. Imagine as a pastor if you pleased all your members you would have a great ministry. As a business person if you pleased all your employees and clients, you would have a great business. If you want to have a great family, ministry or business learn to serve all men, meet people’s needs, help people and make people happy. If you want to be great, then be a servant of all. But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, a

BE A LEADER

Let no one seek his own, but each one each other’s well-being. 1 Corinthians 10:24 Paul by the Spirit is telling the church at Corinth and us that we should seek other’s well-being. That is what leadership is about. Leadership is about adding value to others; seeking other’s well-being. Leaders don’t only care about themselves but others. When you are a leader you should make a difference in other people’s lives and move humanity forward, you cannot carry this out by seeking only your own interests. Look out for others! Think about how you can serve others and how you can use your gifts to benefit others, above all be led by the Spirit in doing so. We need to take from the example that Jesus portrayed. Jesus was a Servant Leader and He showed us how to do it. We are here to serve. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45 Servitude is at the center of successful leadership! We are here to serve Go

YOU CAN NEVER BE DISADVANTAGED

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 Child of God you can never be disadvantaged in life! Even if things seemed to be falling apart, all things work together for your good. Even if it looked like you were losing, you are not, because all things work together for your good. For every challenge there is a breakthrough. For every temptation there is a way of escape. For every setback there is a comeback.  For every battle God has the victory for you. You can never be disadvantaged in life; you can never be defeated, because God makes all things work together for your good. God makes you a success, He makes you a winner and He makes you an overcomer. If you will stand and fight, you will win! If you don’t quit, you will make it. The Lord is on your side. What shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up

WHEN YOU WORK YOU WILL BENEFIT

I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit form them. Amos 9:14 When you work, you will be rewarded! When you work, you will eat! Refuse to be lazy and work hard. Don’t be fall into the trap of thinking that there are no jobs out there. If there are no jobs, you can always create one. There is always something to do. Find something to do that will bring you some income. Put your mind to use because you are not a victim. Use your gifts, skills and creativity. Solve problems for others because you are a solution to someone’s problem. Make a difference somehow and move humanity forward. When you work you will benefit! In all labor there is profit, but idle chatter leads to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 God wants you to work, make a difference and move humanity forward. Be open- minded and look around you to meet other people’s

GET UNDERSTANDING

Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?” Daniel 12:8 A lot of people can read and hear messages, however, not everybody understands. You have to make sure that you understand what you read and what you hear. Understanding will cause you to act upon the Word; it will give you practical wisdom. Understanding will cause you to produce results and it will get you to the desired end. We should get wisdom and understanding not just wisdom. When you go for the Word, you are going for wisdom. However, you must also go for understanding. Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 4:5 1.             Be prayerful The Word and prayer go together. When you pray you speak to God and when you read the Word, God speaks to you. One does not go without the other. You need both, The Word and the Spirit. Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not

A SOUND, CREATIVE AND EXECELLENT MIND

For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 Did you ever know that you have a sound, creative and excellent mind? The opening Scripture lets us know that we who are born again have the mind of Christ. A mind that is sound, creative and excellent. That should tell you that you ought to be fruitful and productive. There is a lot you can do if you put your mind to good use. The potential of your mind has been lying dormant, now it is time to use your mind. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 As you renew your mind you will be transformed from glory to glory. Learn to use your mind by engaging it in activities that benefit it. One of those activities is reading books. When you read the right books, you develop and upgrade your mind! When you develop and upgrade you

MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL SHOULD LIVE FROM THE GOSPEL

Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel. 1 Corinthians 9:14 Ministers of the gospel should not starve because they have a job. They have to minister to the Body of Christ and get a salary from doing so. If you are a minister of the gospel focus on your calling and God will take care of you. Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him upon Peter confirming it, He expressly told him to feed the flock. As a minister of the gospel you are called to feed and take care of the flock. When you do so, God will not have a problem paying you. A laborer is worthy of his wages! And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for a laborer is worthy of his wages. Luke 10:7 As a minister, give yourself to prayer and the Word, minister to the flock and do the work of an evangelist, that means win souls. God always takes care of people who win souls. You don’t have to be poor as a minister. If you want to live in abunda

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Some people think that to pray without ceasing means to pray the whole day, but pray without ceasing simply means to pray every day. Jesus told us that when we pray to go into our room and shut the door pray to the Father who sees in secret and He will reward us openly. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6 Well Paul now says that we have to do it every day. Jesus said something similar when he told us to watch and pray which simply means to be alert and pray and we have to do it every day. Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Mark 14:38 But why should we pray every day? Prayer gives you understanding and prayer makes you sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. So when you pray at the beginning of your da

PURSUE YOUR GOALS

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 The Bible declares that where there is no vision people perish, beloved, you should have a goal in life. I have a 50 year goal, a yearly goal, a monthly goal, a weekly goal and a daily goal. Every day I press on toward my goal. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to the things which are ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12 -14 Paul pressed on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. What we are doing, we are doing for Christ Jesus. We are serving Him. We forge ahead with confidence that He who has begun a good work in us will perfor

WALKING WITH GOD

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3 If you want to walk with God you have to learn to agree with God and say the same things that He says about you. Say what the Word says about you. If there are prophecies spoken concerning you, say the same things with your words. If there are no prophecies, then say what the Word says about you. Agree with God; confess the same things that He said about you. Put the Word of God in your mouth. God’s Word is truth. Your circumstances are subject to change. If you will keep confessing the Word your situation will change. If you feel sick, confess healing and health. If you are struggling with your finances, confess prosperity and abundance. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. John 17:17 If you will walk with God you will end up at the right place. If you will walk God you will end up at the top. You walk with God by agreeing Him, speaking the same things. It goes without saying that for you speak the Wor

A NEW SEASON AHEAD

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 Much like there are four different seasons in a year, so life is made up of different seasons and no one season last forever. That being said, what you are going through is a season and there is a new season ahead. God changes the seasons and sooner or later He will give you a different season, therefore you need to prepare for a new season, you need to prepare for a breakthrough. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. Daniel 2:21 There is a new season ahead, your healing is on the way, your prosperity is on the way, help is on the way, and a breakthrough is on the way. Live in a state of expectancy, God is up to something, He is working behind the scenes. You can never be defeated and you can never be disadvantaged. Your challenging circumstance won’t last, what you see

YOU ARE NOT SEEKING THE LORD IN VAIN

I have not spoken in secret, in the dark place of the earth; I did not say to the seed of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in vain’; I, the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. Isaiah 45:19 When you seek the Lord, it is not because He is far from you. No, not at all because He lives in you. When you seek Him, you seek His face and His will for your life and when you seek Him you are not seeking Him in vain. When you seek Him you will find Him and His heart or His will for your life. You seek Him to get closer to Him. You seek Him because you love Him. When you seek the Lord, you don’t go to a specific location on the earth like some city or country. You seek the Lord through prayer and meditating in His Word. When you seek the Lord, God causes you prosper. Prayer and meditating on the Word are very much in equation of success. Prayer and meditating on the Word will make you an absolute success. He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions

FAITH WORKS THROUGH LOVE

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything but faith working through love. Galatians 5:6 Many want to walk in the gifts of the Spirit but faith works through love. The greatest secret to walking in the gifts of the Spirit is walking in love, loving God and loving people. Your faith will work when you love God and people. Love is the foundation and it is at the core of our Christian faith. It is the first and greatest commandment. It is all about love. Walking in love is what Christianity is all about, your love for God and people. Jesus said to him, “’You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 22:37-40 When you love God, you spend time with God and when you love people, you spend time with people. When you lo

BE FAITHFUL

A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished. Proverbs 28:20 There are four different seasons every year. There is autumn, winter, spring and summer. Similarly, life has different seasons and no season lasts forever. What you need to do is to be faithful in every season. If you will be faithful in every season then you will be promoted in every season and eventually you will end up at the top. If you want to live a blessed life, then learn to be faithful in every season. Act like a leader in every season and you can end in a leadership position. Distinguish yourself with character and excellence in every season and you will be seen at the top. Be faithful, show up for church, work or school every time. Some people when there is an inconvenience they don’t go to church, work or school. However, if you will be faithful and go to church every Sunday, go to work every work day and go to school every school day sooner than later y
