SERVE ALL MEN
Just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
1 Corinthians 10:33
To please all men is to serve all men, to meet people’s
needs, to help people and to make people happy. This is an all-around good
principle. It is good for individuals and organizations alike.
If you can please all men in your sphere of contact you will
do well in life. If you can please all men in your organization whether be
ministry or business you will do well.
Imagine as a pastor if you pleased all your members you
would have a great ministry. As a business person if you pleased all your
employees and clients, you would have a great business.
If you want to have a great family, ministry or business
learn to serve all men, meet people’s needs, help people and make people happy.
If you want to be great, then be a servant of all.
But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know
the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise
authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to
become great among you, let him be your servant.
Matthew 20:25-26
To please all men does not mean that you should displease
God nor does it mean you should let others abuse you. God should always come
first. Don’t do anything that God doesn’t want you to do. Do not please all men
at the expense of your relationship with God. Always put God first and people
second.
A life of pleasing God and all men is a life of selflessness
and selflessness is the key to greatness. If you want to be great you have to
be willing to pay the price. Love God and love people. Serve God and serve
people.
Jesus said to him, “’You shall love the LORD your God with
all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first
and the great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your
neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the
Prophets.”
Matthew 22:37-40
Thought of the day: If I want to be great I must learn to
serve all people.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching me to serve,
meet people’s needs and make them happy, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
