JESUS’ BROTHER, SISTER AND MOTHER
Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
Luke 8:19-21
When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you come
into the family of God. You and Jesus have one Heavenly Father, you are in the
household of faith and Jesus is not ashamed to call you His brother.
Jesus calls those who hear the Word of God and do it His
mother, brothers and sisters. He calls those who do the will God His mother,
brothers and sisters. That is because a real Christian does the will of God.
For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister
and mother.
Mark 3:35
When you are born again, you are in the family of God and
Jesus is your brother. Jesus is your Lord and Savior and you have one Father.
You are royalty, you are a royal priesthood and you are
special to God. God has called and chosen you to be His Own. You belong to
Jesus and Heaven is your home.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9
Jesus is not ashamed of you; His not ashamed to call you His
brother. So rely on God’s love for you. Jesus is with you everywhere you go; He
will never leave you nor forsake you.
Nothing shall separate you from the love of God in Christ
Jesus; you will always experience God’s kindness. God has got you in the palm
of His hand.
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made
holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and
sisters. He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the
assembly I will sing your praises.”
Hebrews 2:11-12 (NIV)
Thought of the day: Jesus is my Brother.
Confession: I belong to Jesus. Heaven is my home. I’m in the
family of God.
