MAKE YOURSELF GOOD
Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
Matthew 12:33
Did you ever know that a person can make him or herself good
or bad? It is entirely up to you as a child of God to make yourself good or
bad, and there are ways in which you make yourself good or bad.
You make yourself good by choosing good influence, which
entails the things you watch, read, and listen to, the places you go to and the
people you spend most of your time with. All these influence you to be a good
person if they are good influence.
He who walks with wise men will be wise, but a companion of
fools will be destroyed.
Proverbs 13:20
Conversely, you make yourself bad when you are influenced by
bad influence such as the things you watch, read, and listen to, the places you
go to and the people you spend most of your time with. All these influence you
to be a bad person if it is bad influence.
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
1 Corinthians 15:33
Many Christians want to live right. However, some fail,
because they choose the wrong kind of influence. Think about what you watch,
read, listen to, the place you go to and the people you spend most of your time
with. All these are directly correlated to the person you become. So, choose
wisely, choose the right kind of influence.
Choose to pursue your relationship with God and godly
relationships. Choose to watch, read, and listen to godly material. Choose to
go to the right places. All these will have a great influence on your Christian
life and will bring about spiritual growth. You can make yourself good as you choose
wisely. Therefore, choose life.
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that
I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose
life, that both you and your descendants may live.
Deuteronomy 30:19
Though of the day: I make myself good by choosing the right
kind of influence.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me the power
to choose the kind of person I want to be. Thank You for advising me to choose
life, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
