BE ALERT AND PRAY
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Matthew 26:41
Child of God be alert and pray. How can you
ensure that you are alert to pray every day? Make prayer a priority and pray at
the beginning of each day. When you spend time in prayer at the beginning of
your day, you are all prayed up for the day and you have set the tone for the
day.
When you are alert to pray every day, you
can live a beautiful and glorious life. When you acknowledge God at the beginning
of your day He goes ahead of you, arranges things in your favour and gives you
wisdom for your day. You can expect good for the day, rejoice and be glad in
it. You can boldly proclaim, “This is the day the LORD has made; I will rejoice
and be glad in it.”
This is the day the LORD has made; we will
rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
Prayer is an important spiritual exercise
that some people take for granted. However, Jesus prayed a lot. A lot of things
happen when you pray and you can effect changes with prayer. One of the things
that happen when you pray is that you condition your spirit to receive form
God.
I will stand my watch and set myself on the
rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I
am corrected. Then the LORD answered and said: Write the vision and make it
plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.
Habakkuk 2:1-2
Someone who is prayerful can receive a lot
from God. God talks to people who are prayerful. God talks to people who care.
Another thing that happens when you pray amongst other things is that you receive
strength. Therefore, be alert and pray.
But those who wait on the LORD shall renew
their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and
not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Though of the day: When I am alert to pray,
I can live a beautiful and a glorious life.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that I
can come boldly to the throne of grace at any given time and pray, and thank
You that You hear prayers, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
