REJOICE!

This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 Today is a new day and you can rejoice and be glad in it. As a child of God, you can rejoice every day because you are forgiven, you are the healed, you are rich and you are blessed. No matter what your life looks like right now, you can rejoice. Do not let temporary circumstances still your joy, choose to rejoice.   You could be saying, “I have pain in my body or I’ve been diagnosed with an illness.” You see that is a fact and facts can change. What is the truth? By Jesus’ stripes you are healed. Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24 You could be saying, “I’m in debt and things are not looking good financially.” That is only a fact and facts can change. What is the truth? Jesus became poor that you may be rich and you are a joint-heir with Christ Jesus. For you kno...

CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 There are good works that God wants you to walk in. God wants you to be fruitful and productive. We are God’s workmanship and the sheep of His pasture. When we follow Him, He leads us to bear good fruit and produce good works. When we follow Him, we bear the fruit of the Spirit and produce good works. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 We are created to produce good works that advance the kingdom of God. There are good works that we need to get involved in like giving to the poor, serving in the local church, planting churches, winning souls and leading many to righteousness. You also produce good works when you pursue your purpose. We have to engage in advancing the kingdom of God by bearing good frui...

SAVED BY GRACE

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 We are saved by grace and not by our good works. You cannot earn your salvation, no matter how many good deeds you get involved in. Salvation is a free gift of God that you receive by faith in the Lord Jesus. If salvation is a free gift of God, then why are so many people not born again? That’s because the devil has blinded them. They need our prayers so that God can move on their behalf. God does not intervene unless we ask Him to do it. We need to pray for the lost; we need to pray for souls. You can start by praying for people close to you like family members, relatives, friends, neighbors, colleagues, etc. When you have adequately prayed for others then you can share the gospel with them. If not at least invite them to church. Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? ...

JESUS TAKES AWAY THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14   When Jesus takes away sins, He also takes away the consequences of sins. Jesus takes away the curse which came as a result of man’s sin. When He takes away the curse, the blessing of Abraham comes upon us. Every child of God is blessed with the blessings of Abraham. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 When Adam sinned the curse came into the world. When you are under the law the curse works effectually in your life, but praise the Lord! We are not under the law but under grace. When you receive Jesus, He takes away the curse and He gives you the blessing. He make...

JESUS TAKES AWAY SIN

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 Sin separates man from God. This is precisely what happened to Adam. When Adam sinned, he became estranged from God. He no longer had a healthy and living relationship with God, where God and Adam would fellowship together. He became separated from God, all because of sin. He was driven out of the Garden. Adam first died spiritually and then physically. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 Jesus came to restore the relationship that was lost between God and man. He came to give us life eternal life, life as God has it. When you receive Jesus and confess Him as your Lord and Saviour, you receive eternal life and you are reconciled and restored to a relationship with God. That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has ...

GOD’S THOUGHTS CONCERNING YOU

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 Beloved, you might find that you are not where you want to be or your life did not quite turn out the way you thought it would. Maybe, you are not as swift, strong or wise as you would like to be. There is hope for you and Jesus is your hope. God has good thoughts concerning you. Taking it from our opening Scripture, God has thoughts of peace toward you; however, these thoughts are in His Word clothed in vocabulary. What you need do is to delve into the Word, because all His exceedingly great and precious promises are not on the surface. You must dig deep to take possession of them. You need to exchange your thoughts about yourself with God’s thoughts concerning you. Whatever God says about you in His Word, let it dominate your thinking. Let the Word saturate your mind. Renew your mind with the Word of God. And do not be conformed ...

MAKE YOURSELF GOOD

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Matthew 12:33 Did you ever know that a person can make him or herself good or bad? It is entirely up to you as a child of God to make yourself good or bad, and there are ways in which you make yourself good or bad. You make yourself good by choosing good influence, which entails the things you watch, read, and listen to, the places you go to and the people you spend most of your time with. All these influence you to be a good person if they are good influence. He who walks with wise men will be wise, but a companion of fools will be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20 Conversely, you make yourself bad when you are influenced by bad influence such as the things you watch, read, and listen to, the places you go to and the people you spend most of your time with. All these influence you to be a bad person if it is bad influence. Do not be deceived: “Evil company...

REST

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 We are living in stressful times and many people are battling to cope with daily demands. You could be struggling with depressing thoughts or some seemingly insurmountable challenge that is causing you stress, worry and anxiety. There is a way out. You can find rest when you come to Jesus. You find rest by coming to Jesus and spending time with Him. He will ease your mind and give you rest; He will restore your soul. Sadly, too many people are busy about many things and they neglect fellowship with the Lord. If you will make time for the Lord and make spending time with Him a priority, then stress, worry and anxiety will melt like wax in His presence. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. For My yoke is easy and burden is light. Matthew 11:30 If you want to travel light, I encourage you to make spending time with God a priority. God wants you to rest inwardly, so that you can be...

THINK EXCELLENT THOUGHTS

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 Excellent thoughts bring about joy and peace in one’s life; excellent thoughts attract blessings. If you want to have a beautiful life, think excellent thoughts; thoughts that are consistent with the Word. You have the mind of Christ; you have a sound, excellent and creative mind. Refrain from thinking discouraging and self-defeating thoughts, refuse to dwell on the negative and think positive thoughts. Train your mind to think constructive and excellent thoughts; thoughts that encourage and build you up. You are the only one who can choose what you think about. Just because something crossed your mind it does not mean that you should dwell on it. The Bible admonishes us to guard our hearts...

EMPOWERED TO OBEY GOD

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 According to the above Scripture, you have to spend time in the Bible in order to do according to all that is written in it. Nevertheless, there are a lot of Christians who want to obey God, they want to obey the Word, but they fail because they fail to spend time in the Word. As a Christian, you don’t just instantaneously become a doer of the Word because you have to be empowered to be a doer of the Word.   You are empowered to be a doer of the Word by spending time with God. When you make spending time with God a priority, you become a doer of the Word. The children of Israel struggled to obey God. However, when Moses asked them to come close to God and hear Him, they refused. Nevertheless, they thought they could stil...

SAVE FOR A BETTER FINANCIAL FUTURE

Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase. Proverbs 13:11 Too many people stay the same place financially, even after many years of work. There is little or no financial progress in their lives. That is because some neglect the importance of saving for the future. Take note from our opening Scripture that it is not those who labor who will increase but those who gather by labor, meaning those who work and save will increase. Don’t spend all your money, be wise and spend less than you earn. When you save for the future, you can have money to give when the Lord requires you to give. You can also do something important with your savings, like buy a car, start a business, send your children to university, etc. The Word declares that to him who has more will be given. When you have money because you save, more money can come to you because money goes to where it is properly managed. When you save, you put yourself in a better financi...

YOU ARE THE LIGHT IN YOUR WORLD

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14 People in the world are in darkness; they walk in ignorance to God’s Word. As a believer you can enlighten other people’s darkness; you can make them see. You are the light of the world. You are a leader with solutions. You can win souls and lead many to righteousness. You can liberate and empower others. You can lead by example and make a difference. You can distinguish yourself as the light of the world by bearing good fruit and producing good works. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 People everywhere are looking for leaders who will lead them. They are looking for the light, someone who will lead and solve problems. You can be that difference maker and change other people’s lives. When people see you, what do they see; what do they think? Are you the solution or the problem? You can be a burning ...

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12 Friend, the blessed life that Jesus came for you to have; the glorious and the good life won’t be handed to you on a silver platter. You have to fight for it. Paul told Timothy to fight the good fight of faith. In this Christian life, only fighters win. Victory is secured only when you fight. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12 How do you fight? With your full amour in place, you fight by speaking the Word, in other words, after you’ve prayed and read the Word, you fight by speaking the Word. It is truly a good fight, and when you fight, you fight to win. You don’t have to take things lying down; you can put up a fight, and fight the good fight of faith. Go for the Word because the Word is the sword of ...

GOD LOVES YOU

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 No one in this world can love you the way that God does. Your parents, spouse, brothers, sisters and friends cannot love you the way that God does. God loves you. God’s love cannot be compared to human love. Human love is imperfect and has shortcomings but God’s love is perfect and it never fails. You can rely on God’s love for you. The Bible declares that nothing can separate us from God’s love. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 In other words, you will always experience God’s love; nothing can separate you from His love. Expect God’s love, mercy and goodness. God will meet you at your l...

BEARING FRUIT

Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. Matthew 7:17 As born-again believers we ought to bear fruit. The world will know us by our fruit that we are Christians and not by our mere confession. There has to be a distinct difference between a believer and someone who is an unbeliever. We are in the world but not of the world. In the book of Acts, the disciples were called Christians because they were Christ-like, they were identified with Christ. Therefore, Christianity is a lifestyle. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. Acts 11:26 There are two kinds of Christians, a carnal Christian and a spiritual Christian. A carnal Christian is a natural man and he is ruled by the senses. The Bible says that a carnal Christian is a babe in Christ. The spiritual Christian is a growing C...

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. 1 John 5:4 Challenges are a part of life. They are tests of life and we all go through them. Challenges don’t defeat a man but a man’s wrong response to challenges can defeat him. Challenges are not there to destroy us, but to make us stronger, wiser and better. This world presents us challenges, however when you are born again you overcome the world. As believers we overcome by our faith. Faith is our victory. We are not moved by what we see, hear or feel but we are moved by the Word of God. We walk by faith and not by sight. In the midst of challenges, we stand on the Word of God and believe His promises. Our faith comes before our possession. We believe it first and then we will see it. No mountain or giant can stand before faith. By faith we can move mountains and by faith we can slay giants. Faith pleases God. Faith gets God on the scene. But without faith it is imposs...

GIVING IS LIVING

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38 The world doesn’t owe you anything; you are the one who is supposed to make a difference in the world. You are the one who is supposed to be a giver, lifter and helper. Many people are waiting for things to happen like the next breakthrough. Well, why not make things happen? Instead of waiting for a breakthrough, pay it forward. Every action has a return effect, you will reap what you sow. Instead of waiting for people to love you, help you and be friendly to you. Start sowing love, help and friendship to others. Start sowing what you want to harvest in your life. Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12 God has set spiritual laws in motion and all you have to do is to take advantage of them. Whe...

GIVING AND RECIEVING

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22 Giving and receiving go together. Sowing and reaping go hand in hand. There is no prosperity without giving and receiving. The truth of the matter is that many people would love to be givers, but many people wait for the “right time” to give. They wait until they have more than enough. They wait for just the right conditions. To be frank, that day may never come with that kind of attitude towards giving. He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap. Ecclesiastes 11:4 In giving, there has to be sacrifice involved. Where you give not necessarily because you have abundance, but you give because you love God and people. Giving not necessarily because you have abundance, but giving even out of need. Giving is sacrificial in nature. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever beli...

PRAYER UNLOCKS BREAKTHROUGH

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 Your prayers can effect changes and change your world. The faith walk is an upward walk, where you go from faith to faith, strength to strength, grace to grace and glory to glory. However, that is not all God’s responsibility. We have a role to play, in order to experience the life that Jesus came to give us. He told us to work out our own salvation with godly reverence. He told us to put it to work. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12 As a child of God, you are responsible as to how your life turns out. God has given you a choice between life and death; blessing and cursing. God has given you keys of the kingdom. Your prayer li...

THE POWER OF THE TONGUE

A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:20-21 Life and death are in the tongue. How your life goes, your well-being and your economic state are all dependent on the words that you speak every day. Your words can make you a failure or a success in life. If your life is going in the wrong direction, change your words. He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:3 Your words have the ability to create the desired future. When you speak, it is not just mere words. Your words go into the future and create a life that is consistent with your words. If you want to change your life, change your words. Choose life, speak life. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things whic...

GRACE

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:16-17 Grace is unmerited favor; favor that you didn’t earn, and that you don’t deserve. Grace or unmerited favor came by Jesus Christ. Jesus is full of grace and truth. Every time you come to Jesus, you receive grace and when you come again, you receive more grace. Hallelujah! No judgement, no condemnation, just grace upon grace. The Bible declares that with the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness we will reign in life by Jesus Christ. For if by one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17 We are living in the dispensation of grace. Consequently, when you go to God, He doesn’t judge or condemn you. Judgement is coming. However, it is not that time. God corrects you w...

FAITH THAT WORKS

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. Hebrews 11:1-2 Faith is an important subject. Faith is a serious matter. The Bible declares that without faith it is impossible to please God. So, faith pleases God. Faith gets God on the scene. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 What is faith? 1.        Faith is a law. As much as there are natural laws. Faith is a spiritual law. Just like natural laws, faith works all the time as long as the right conditions are met. Meaning genuine faith works all the time like clockwork and produces results. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Romans 3:27 2.        Faith is believing and speaking. Faith is n...

DEALING WISELY IN THE AFFAIRS OF LIFE

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 Years ago, I used to wonder, if God has given me wisdom, why do I keep making foolish choices? That was because I did not know that I had to grow in the knowledge of God’s Word. As time passed, God kept me from making silly mistakes. Now, by God’s grace I deal wisely in the affairs of life.   However, that did not happen overnight, I had to be a student of God’s Word. Did you know that God’s Word can make you smart? Yes, God’s Word can make you super intelligent. In the opening verse we have learnt that God wanted Joshua to spend time in the Word. In another passage we read that Joshua was full of the spirit of wisdom. Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so the...

THE KINGDOM OF LOVE, PEACE AND JOY

For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17 People everywhere are looking for love, peace and joy. They look for these in relationships, careers, fame, wealth, substance abuse, etc. Instead of getting love, peace and joy, the world gives them stress, worry and anxiety. That is because this world won’t solve your problems. The world will give you stress, worry and anxiety. Love, peace and joy are found in God. The Bible expressly tells us that God is love, so if you are looking for love, you need God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8 If you are searching for peace, Jesus is the Prince of peace (Isaiah 9:6) and He gives perfect peace. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 If it is joy that you need, in God’s presence, there is complete joy. ...
