SAVE FOR A BETTER FINANCIAL FUTURE
Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase.
Proverbs 13:11
Too many people stay the same place
financially, even after many years of work. There is little or no financial
progress in their lives. That is because some neglect the importance of saving
for the future.
Take note from our opening Scripture that
it is not those who labor who will increase but those who gather by labor,
meaning those who work and save will increase.
Don’t spend all your money, be wise and
spend less than you earn. When you save for the future, you can have money to
give when the Lord requires you to give. You can also do something important
with your savings, like buy a car, start a business, send your children to
university, etc.
The Word declares that to him who has more
will be given. When you have money because you save, more money can come to you
because money goes to where it is properly managed. When you save, you put
yourself in a better financial position.
For whoever has, to him more will be given,
and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be
taken away from him.
Matthew 13:12
In the Bible when Pharaoh had a dream, no
one could interpret it but Joseph, and afterward Joseph advised Pharaoh to save
20% in the years of plenty. You can pick up the same advice and save a certain
amount of your income. Be wise, spend less than you earn and save for a better
financial future.
Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint
officers over the land, to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of
Egypt in the seven plentiful years. And let them gather all the food of those
good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh,
and let them keep food in the cities.
Genesis 41:34
Thought of the day: When I save, I put
myself in a better financial position.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for
teaching me to save. Thank You for teaching me to use money wisely so that I
can increase in the area of finances, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
