GIVING AND RECIEVING
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
Genesis 8:22
Giving and receiving go together. Sowing
and reaping go hand in hand. There is no prosperity without giving and
receiving. The truth of the matter is that many people would love to be givers,
but many people wait for the “right time” to give.
They wait until they have more than enough.
They wait for just the right conditions. To be frank, that day may never come
with that kind of attitude towards giving.
He who observes the wind will not sow, and
he who regards the clouds will not reap.
Ecclesiastes 11:4
In giving, there has to be sacrifice
involved. Where you give not necessarily because you have abundance, but you
give because you love God and people. Giving not necessarily because you have
abundance, but giving even out of need. Giving is sacrificial in nature.
For God so loved the world that He gave His
only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life.
John 3:16
Love is expressed in giving. The first
thing that God did as an indication of His love was to give. When God gave, He
gave His very best, it cost Him everything.
Giving is an act of faith. You give
believing that you will receive. You give believing that God will reward you
for your generosity. When you give, you create a blessing for your future. You
have something to give whether big or small and the more you give the more you
will receive.
Give, and it will be given to you: good
measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your
bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
Luke 6:38
Thought of the day: When I give, I will
receive in the future.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for
teaching me to give. Thank You for the harvest that comes from my giving, in
the name of Jesus. Amen.
